Kailahil ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website and event-curation platform at kailahil.com (the "Service"). We provide curated photography, cinematography, DJ, bartending, and coordination services for celebrations.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to anyone who visits our site, submits an event inquiry, or creates an account.

We collect information in two ways:

Information you provide

When you submit an event inquiry or use our bundle builder, we collect the details you enter:

• Name — so we know who we're planning for.
• Email address — to send quotes, confirmations, and updates.
• Phone number — for day-of coordination and urgent contact.
• Event details — event type, date, location, guest count, and budget.
• Selected services and add-ons — the bundle you're curating.

When you create an account, we also store your login email and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text).

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country/region), device type, and referral source. It may set cookies on your browser. We do not use Google Analytics to identify individuals.

We use the information we collect to:

• Plan your event — respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, and coordinate services for your date.
• Communicate with you — send confirmations, timelines, and day-of details.
• Improve our services — understand which bundles and services are popular so we can refine what we offer.
• Operate your account — let you view your events, galleries, and assigned team.
• Meet legal obligations — respond to lawful requests and keep records where required.

We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles or sell it to anyone.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share it only in these limited situations:

• Service providers. We use Base44 for hosting and application infrastructure. Base44 stores your data on our behalf to operate the Service and is contractually limited to processing it only as needed to provide hosting.
• Your event crew. If you book a bundle, the specific team members working your event (photographer, videographer, DJ, bartender, coordinator) receive the event details they need to deliver the service.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kailahil, our users, or others.

Google Analytics data is processed by Google under its own privacy practices. We have configured it to anonymize IP addresses where possible.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

• Encryption in transit. All traffic to and from our site uses SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS).
• Secure servers. Data is stored on managed infrastructure with access controls and regular security updates.
• Limited access. Only authorized Kailahil crew members can access personal data, and only the fields needed to do their job.
• Hashed passwords. Account passwords are stored as one-way hashes and never readable by anyone, including us.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

We keep your information only as long as we need it:

• Event inquiries. Data submitted through an inquiry or the bundle builder is retained for 90 days after your last interaction, then deleted unless you book an event.
• Booked events. Event details for confirmed bookings are kept for the length of the engagement and up to 12 months after the event for follow-up and record-keeping.
• Accounts. Your account data is kept while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
• Analytics. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's retention settings (currently 14 months) and then automatically deleted.

You have the following rights over your personal information:

• Access. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion. You can ask us to delete your data, and we will remove it within 30 days unless we're legally required to keep it.
• Correction. You can ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Opt out of analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google's official opt-out browser add-on, or by disabling cookies in your browser.
• Withdraw consent. If you gave us consent for a specific use, you can withdraw it at any time.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

• Material changes (what we collect, how we use it, or who we share it with) will be highlighted with a notice on our site for at least 30 days.
• Account holders will be notified by email of any material change.
• Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
